Introduction to Ayam Goreng Tepung

Ayam Goreng Tepung, orfried chicken in flour, is a popular Indonesian dish that is both crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. This mouth-watering food is a staple in many Indonesian households and is often served with steamed rice or noodles. In this recipe, we will guide you through the process of making Ayam Goreng Tepung that will satisfy your cravings and leave you wanting more.

Ingredients

To make Ayam Goreng Tepung, you will need the following ingredients:

• 1 kg chicken pieces (legs, thighs, wings, and breasts)
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup cornstarch
• 1/2 cup ice-cold water
• 1/4 cup vegetable oil
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon soy sauce
• 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
• Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

Now that we have our ingredients ready, let’s move on to the cooking process. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make Ayam Goreng Tepung:

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well to combine.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the ice-cold water, garlic, soy sauce, and oyster sauce (if using). Add this mixture to the flour mixture and stir until a smooth batter forms.
3. Add the chicken pieces to the batter and mix until they are fully coated.
4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add a few pieces of the chicken to the pan (do not overcrowd).
5. Fry the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it is golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining chicken pieces.
6. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
7. Serve the Ayam Goreng Tepung hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
