The combination of juicy chicken and crunchy exterior makes it a favorite among many food enthusiasts. In this recipe, we will explore how to make the perfect ayam goreng tepung that will leave you wanting more.

Introduction to Ayam Goreng Tepung

Ayam goreng tepung is a popular Indonesian dish that is made by coating chicken pieces in a mixture of flour, spices, and other ingredients, then deep-frying them until crispy. The result is a crunchy exterior and a juicy interior that is full of flavor. This dish is often served with steamed rice, vegetables, and a variety of sauces to enhance the flavor.

• 1 kg chicken pieces (legs, thighs, wings, and breasts)
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup cornstarch
• 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 egg, beaten
• Vegetable oil for frying

Cooking Ayam Goreng Tepung

To make ayam goreng tepung, you will need to prepare the chicken pieces, create the flour mixture, and then fry the chicken until crispy. Here are the steps to follow:

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, panko breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg until it is well mixed.
3. Dip each chicken piece into the beaten egg, making sure it is fully coated.
4. Then, dip the egg-coated chicken piece into the flour mixture, pressing the flour onto the chicken to ensure it sticks.
5. Heat about 5-7 cm of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C.
6. When the oil is hot, add a few pieces of the flour-coated chicken to the pan and fry until they are golden brown and crispy.
7. Repeat the frying process with the remaining chicken pieces.
8. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
9. Serve the ayam goreng tepung hot with your favorite sides, such as steamed rice, vegetables, and sauce.
