Introduction to Crispy Fried Chicken
Crispy fried chicken, or resep ayam goreng tepung crispy, is a popular Indonesian dish that has gained worldwide recognition for its mouthwatering flavor and crunchy texture. The secret to making the perfect crispy fried chicken lies in the marinade and the frying technique. In this recipe, we will guide you through the process of making crispy fried chicken that is similar to the famous KFC recipe.
Ingredients
To make crispy fried chicken, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 kg chicken pieces (legs, thighs, wings, and breasts)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegtable oil for frying
Cooking Instructions
Now that we have our ingredients ready, let’s move on to the cooking instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- In a separate bowl, pour the buttermilk.
- Dip each chicken piece into the buttermilk, coating it completely, then roll it in the flour mixture to coat. Place the coated chicken piece on a plate or tray. Repeat with the remaining chicken pieces.
- Heat about 1/2-inch (1 cm) of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (180°C).
- When the oil is hot, add a few pieces of the coated chicken to the skillet. Do not overcrowd the skillet.
- Fry the chicken for about 8-10 minutes on each side, or until it is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the fried chicken from the oil with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Repeat the frying process with the remaining chicken pieces.
- Serve the crispy fried chicken hot and enjoy!
